A local manufacturing plant just announced they're calling back their laid off workers and even creating some new jobs.
Northpoint Industries in Manistee County makes precision machine components. The company hit a low point last October and had to lay off more than two-thirds of their workforce. Now they say sales are up, and they're expanding.
Last spring, 9&10 News spoke with Northpoint's president, who had just signed on to make parts for a German company. One year later, that decision is paying off.
Northpoint says they hope to double their sales in the next five years, which could mean even more jobs in Manistee.
9&10's Alex Jokich and photojournalist Tyler Hampton have more details.
