While enjoying most of my riding on trails in N. Wis and brief UP day-rides reaching into “Pure Michigan”, I’ve always wanted to experience Deep/Fresh Powder and Backcountry riding. Been denied way too many times to count by meltoffs in N. Wis. I think I experienced the Super Bowl,, no ,,, the NFC Championship of DEEP snow riding. (Super Bowl w/b 20+ in of powder Out West).

Easily exceeded any previous riding challenges and machine capabilities many times only by pulling through places hammering 799cc of a paltry (for the conditions) 137”/ 1.25” lug to it’s max. Many times 801cc’s were needed and those were the “stucks”. Ha !! What a riot !! I had always heard the phrase “Over the Hood”,,,,, I now know the experience of O.T.H.& H. A new UP phrase for me,,,, Over the Hood AND Helmet !!

Like I said,,,, POWDER BLISS !!!

Many Thanks to those who led the way to some absolutely fabulous riding and for allowing me to join along. Randy, Sean, and Dan for starters. I learned what true UP backcountry riding is all about and had a ton of fun. Wish I had a camera rolling for some of the hysterics I witnessed, especially the RMK with a temporary throttle-mind of it’s own . Holy crap Dan,,,, Some people might have been in a stretcher after that one,, Or The “Cat” stuck in a flippin tree !! I should talk,,, couple times yellow handguards were almost only thing sticking out of snow to find sled.

Thanks especially to the RST Motel (a.k.a. Bluff) when vehicle issues prevented departure and necessitated an unexpected overnight stay,,,, Huh,,?? Why would any snowmobiler in their right mind want to leave that place in the middle of a major snowfall ? Don’t worry guys,,,, my “blindfold” is on with respect to your coveted play-areas.

Huge Thanks once again,,,,,,, and of course Thanks to JD for creating and administering this site !!
Btw,,, chef Frosty makes a heck of a breakfast sandwich !!

You've obviously snorted too much of the deep lake effect. Extreme happiness is a common side effect. It will wear off somewhere around July (or not).
