The hill is in South Range...We stopped on our way up to Copper Harbor. I have a picture of the RX-1 Mountain after it rolled from the top to 1/2 down. I have more pics I am going to post within a day or so.

The guys at work called it the "Widow Maker" until they went to the mountains for the first time.

Yep used to be the home of the Whealkate Winternationals.

Big doings in the day.

Don't here much about hillclimbs anymore. I thinnk Marquette Mountain Ski Hill still does one at the end of the season.

There's still one SUPER hill climb left in the area. Just returned from it yesterday, Copper Peak, held in Bessmer, Mi.usual date is 3rd Sat. in Jan. this year it was postponed due to no snow as it was for the past 3 years. FINALLY enough for it this year. A truely must see event, 80%of the sleds don't make the hill. It's not for novices either, some actually compete out west and thought it to be a baby hill, WRONG,the hill spanked them! There is a rookie run which is a straight shot up the hill, other wise it's a salom course, conditions really can change the hill conditions. This is not about horse power, or type of sled,it's all about the racer. Not saying the the horsepower and type of sled can't factor in. It really is a must see event!
