You really outdid yourself with this week's journal, John. Loved it!
Twenty-three photos? A new record?
I particularly enjoyed the sugarbush tour. Wow, how the sugaring bizness has changed since the operation I saw at the Naras' sugar camp in Bootjack back in the 1960s.
No more buckets hanging on the trees on spiles (taps/nucket hangers), no more collecting and hauling them all back to the sugar shack. Now they're all connected with tubing, one-way valves, separators, reverse osmosis contraptions before the sap even gets to the (still wood-fired?) evaporator!
Still using a hydrometer on the syrup to watch for a density of 66° on the Brix scale, though, I 'spose.
And finally, that priceless photo of Bleau with his new haircut!
"What just happened here?", said Bleau.
Don'cha just love that expression?
Now if by chance Nora has a handy old …
Norske spinnende hjul
stowed away somewhere, you can have sweaters for the whole family!
