Me and that S.O.B. of a Grease Fitting

Thought I'd circle back from a couple of weeks ago as this is what I learned along with the end result. The zerk on the bottom of the skid wouldn't take any grease. Was going to replace it but learned the thing is welded in despite the fact it has a hex shape, even verified it at a local dealer. Another suggestion was to use heat so I bought one of those little butane torches, still no luck. Not enough room under there to use one of those plunger drivers with a hammer. I was flummoxed! If you've ever been flummoxed, you know the feeling. I was EF'n Flummoxed! Lastly, I always look for the opportunity to add another tool to the arsenal so....I rolled in to Fleet Farm and bought one of those Electric Grease Guns. AND IT WORKED! One touch of the trigger and that fitting let loose, so much so that I had a mess to clean up on the end of the shaft from the old grease and gunk that poured out. So, at the end of the day, do I need an Electric Grease Gun? No, but don't tell the wife that, she's already suspicious.;)

I had the same experience. I have a zerk on a end loader that would not take grease for 15 years , I would grease the pin by hand. I bought a Milwaukee Cordless gun and that puppy forced it right through!
