Mercer Area - Iron County Trails Closed March 18, 2019

For immediate posting/publishing:
All Iron County snowmobile and ATV trails will be closed effective Monday, March 18, 2019 at 8:00 am. Gates along the trails will be closed.
All ATV trails will remain closed until break-up conditions recede. ATV trails will open on a trail-by-trail basis as trail conditions dry up and have been inspected for washouts and grade integrity. This is estimated to be mid-May.
Thank you for your cooperation during this seasonal transition time.

that's weird. People that were there this weekend said it was actually pretty decent all things considered.

Sounds about right to me the Vilas Alliance meeting is tomorrow and I wouldn’t be at all surprised that Vilas trails will start closing too. It takes more than just snow depth to keep trails safe mid 50s, sun , mud and water are taking over lakes will be big puddles. The end is near and grooming is pretty much done just too wet.
