Mercer Area Sno-Goers Snowmobile Club January 2
Conditions: Fair to Good
Trails held up very well through the heavy traffic over the weekend. Groomers were out all day yesterday getting the trails flattened from a very busy week in the Northwoods. We still have some trails that need work, but overall conditions are fair to good. Of course, as always, we need to watch the forecast as this weekend as we are expecting unseasonably warm temps.
From our Trail Boss : Please be sure to use hand signals when passing other sleds and GROOMERS to signal how many more sleds in the group. Ride safe and enjoy the snow! For more information and updates on the Mercer Area visit http://mercercc.com/snowmobiling/

Rode 218 miles this weekend in the Mercer area and this is what I found. Although the only groomer I seen in the Mercer area was driving past The Great Northern, most of the trails were in great shape and I was pleasantly surprised in their condition. The trail heading south from the Lazy Ace was HORRIBLE as usual and there is an open water hole on trail 9. I also had some friends that stuck a sled in a large water/mud hole on trail 12 west of the Lake of the Falls.
