Iron has been opening on the 1st with a few closures for hunting in the past. Haven't heard about this December yet.

Usually Dec 15th since that is the end of deer hunting, though they may make it earlier or later depending on how that goes or weather conditions.

there is a hunt the 11-14th. Thats why oneida earliest to open is the 15th. Not sure why price can open the 11th. Maybe price doesnt have the deer hunt? Good news is im pretty sure this is the last year of this darn late hunt.

Respectfully submit that none of these answers are correct. It is up to each county when they want to open. Some chose to respect landowner wishes and not open until the hunt is over.

If memory serves, Iron Cty typically says "we're open" by the first weekend of December. I believe there was discussion within Vilas of doing the same to get the early season riders. Dont know where that went.

I was told by my club's trail boss 15th they would open permitting snow at the earliest because of deer hunt. That is the 15th in oneida county. Below is what price county states.

Like I said, each county determines when to open.....it is not a DNR/State/etc. mandate/law that you CAN'T open until after deer season. Once your easements are legally in place you can be open. There's a county in the WC part of WI that advertises that "we're always open"...don't remember who it is right now.
