Is it a lost science? Pretty girls reading tellapromters with computer generated weather from past weather seems to be the norm. Spin the weather wheel of the 60's seemed far more accurate. What's your thoughts to this?

Bingo. Let's ask John! I miss good accurate news over pretty girls reading computer generated weather reports. John is meteorology a lost science?

I really cannot answer this one, as I do not watch the TV much and pretty much never watch the network news. I will say that the main reason that I totally avoid the network news is that, to me, it seemed like they were out to create a story, rather than report on one. Maybe the same is happening with the weather segments, but I have not seen them. I do know that the weather channel is no longer useful for actually trying to get info on what the current and forecasted weather is, but it's their station and they can program how ever they want.

As far as it being a science or art, it truly is both.
