Michigan trail pass question

I usually purchase my trail pass at one of the gas stations where we ride, but I see they are available online. My question is if I purchase my pass online, am I legal to ride with the receipt until I receive my sticker in the mail? All I could fine on the MSA or the MDNR site was you need to have your sticker displayed to be legal.

just what you read, why not by your sticker at one of the gas stations you stop at if you cant wait.

VIN is not tied to the sticker. You could carry a receipt while riding any sled if you didn't need to display.

That is my point. I ride four different sleds. I could carry around the sticker all day and just purchase one for the season if I didn't need to have it displayed. One sticker = four sleds.

That's odd.....I have had that happen and they always let us go after they watched us put it on.
