Michigan Trail Stickers

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere or if anyone was aware of this but there is a $1 profit on Michigan trail stickers, if you purchase from msa the $1 stays in the msa fund and goes directly to michigan snowmobiling, if you purchase from the dnr which is what most people do is pick it up at the gas station or wherever then that $1 profit goes to the dnr and ends up who knows where, you think about how many trail stickers are purchased in a year thats alot of $$$$!!! So lets keep our snowmobile trail money in a fund that is for michigan snowmobiling, buy your trail permit from the msa!!!

"Did you know that if you buy your trail permits from MSA the $1.00 profit stays in the snowmobile program! If you buy from a DNR point of sale machine the DNR keeps that $1.00! We need to keep snowmobile dollars in the snowmobile program! Please buy your permits from MSA! www.msasnow.org"

This is what was posted on msa facebook page! So go to msasnow.org and order your trail permit ahead of time!

Good deal bought my sticker there last year 3 days and had my sticker. A lot better than buying them when you go riding you can put them on in a nice warm garage.

Doesn't the selling agent get a buck or 2 for selling the permit?

Revenue from the sale of every trail permit fee is allocated by law as follows:

50 cents for department administrative costs
$1 for agent selling the permit
The balance deposited in the recreational snowmobile trail improvement subaccount

To bad some of the major charities can't run that efficient. MSA does a fantastic job with the money.

Last year, I was told by MSA when I ordered, that ordering on line will get your sticker faster then if you call in.
The person in change checks the on line first thing every day.
The other types of requests are handled later.

I think we do need vendors along with the MSA. A dollar to distribute them is not a lot of money and it is a real convenience when you're on the trail with people who don't have stickers.
You can swing into a bar or gas station and buy one.
