I'd recommend you do the ride and report back on how it fits with your questions.
I am continually pleased with how ar we ride now adays compared to years past....obviously we don't get younger, but our day trips get longer each year. I guess it depends on trail preesure and where you are headed but, the miles get progressively higher each year.

You need to know your own riding style to answer yur questions. What seems like a long ride to you may seem short to others.

1 or 2 day ride??... I would not say it can't be done in 1 but a LONG ride & so much to see. To me I would take southern route mostly Twistys thru Amasa ,gas there, stay in Big Bay on day 1. Day 2 take northern route on 14W to 8/15 pipe line trail gas in LAnse. If doing 1 day RT 8/15 & 14 only way to consider for best high speed trails but too many miles for me & I'm a high mile rider.

Thanks for the replies guys. I should have specified that it would be a 2-day jaunt. No need to miss all the scenery going balls to the walls all the time (but it is a little fun at the right times)

Whitedust, somehow I had a feeling you'd respond with all the good info I've seen you post in the past. Thanks for the specifics and especially the "fishweb" site. That's a great site. That's a great all encompassing source of info,, bridges the paper map routine well.

Thanks again. I'll post some details if I can make the trip.
