If memory serves me right, shortest route by trail is around 275 miles. But that takes you through Baraga/L'Anse, plus riding the ungroomed grade between Chassell and Houghton.
Add 10 or 15 miles if you cut up to Painesdale from Chassell and skip that rough section of grade. You could also run the Flowage this time of year, but ask around first if you're not familiar with it.
Add another 30 or 40 miles if it's really thin through Baraga & you choose heading over to Sidnaw, then running 109 up to Twin Lakes.
When are you planning to go? I think Baraga/L'Anse has more snow right now than Sidnaw.
