Class A championship game between Hermantown Hawks (defending champs) and Monticello /Annandale /Maple Lake Moose (first appearance in the tournament)

What a game! LOVE High School hockey. (Especially tourneys)

Hawks come back from 3-1 to tie to go to overtime.
2 overtimes, Hawks thought they had it won, refs reviewed to find contact with goaltender so NO GOAL. Can't imagine having thrown gloves and sticks celebrating winning. Then have to go back to playing. And the Moose watching the review and getting another chance. What a massive wave of emotion.
Hawks come through to win 2nd consecutive state championship.

Watching this was almost better than being out riding.

Clearly the best state high school tournament there is. That was a great game to watch - both teams were completely gassed at the end of the 2nd OT before that goal went through......

The best sport to watch is Minnesota high school hockey , This tournament was an all timer with unseeded teams advancing , 1 goal games and come backs

Best thing is both schools that won were from up north! No metro schools this yr!

My hometown team of Luverne has been pretty good lately. When I grew up, we didn't even have hockey and Luverne was very much a basketball town. Now it's a hockey town! They say the state of Indiana has the best high school basketball, Texas the best high school football and Minnesota the best hockey.

Luverne looked really solid - gave Hermantown a run for their money. I was really impressed with the passing of Grand Rapids and they managed to get by Eden Prairie but the last ten minutes of that game was insane. Eden Prairie flat-out peppered the GR goaltender for ten minutes. What did he have, something like 47 saves? Pretty sure the Eden Prairie players were talking to themselves for a long time after that game.
