Modern lodging: Hayward area.

Has anybody stayed at a modern amenity hotel/motorlodge with truck/trailer parking in the Hayward area? I spent a few days in Hayward this past June and enjoyed the area. I usually snowmobile from Boulder Junction, Minacqua or the Twin Lakes/Keweenaw area but I would like to try my hand in northwestern Wisconsin. It's usually just my brother and I so we don't need a cabin but we do prefer to relax in front of at least a decent flat screen TV with dish/cable at the end of a long day. I stayed at the LCO casino which was OK but it could use some updating. We don't require 4-star accomidations but we are not cheapskates either so I don't think a clean room with comfy beds, and a flat screen TV are not too much to ask. Trail access is a must.

Try the Eagle Lodge, its about 30 miles EAST of Hayward, off the beaten path so to speak, and right on Trail 5. Trail actually crosses the grounds there. They have 3 very nice winterized cabins with Dish and I believe Flat Screen TV's. Also has a bar there for the after ride entertainment if that's something your looking for.

Heck, maybe if I'm up there the same time this winter, I could show you some fun play areas!

Lots of very well maintained trails, and loops to be made from there.

you could try lakewoods near cable on lake namakagon. the lake has several trails going in every direction. they seem to have more snow than the hayward area every year. we have been going there for 15 years. they have hotel rooms a pool,hot tub and a bar. there are several other places on the lake to unwind at just a short ride away.

The Hayward AREA has the widest selection of lodging in all of Wis. Everything from DUMPS to MANSIONS, just name your $$$.

That's kinda why I was asking for some advice. The amount places to stay that Google threw at me was a bit overwhelming. Surprisingly enough, at least on J-D, nobody appears to stay there. I only get to make a couple trips up north per year so i like to make them count, hence the whole sticking what we know complex, however as many miles as we've put on in north-central Wisconsin it begins to get borring.

Hayward

I would agree with Lakewoods. We were in Cable (just north of Hayward) twice last season and stayed at Garmisch (excellent) with the guys and Telemark (needs updating)with the family. Tried to stay at Lakewoods but was booked both times. Planning ahead for this year....

Visited a number of places on my two trips and think Lakewoods is the place to stay (great bar, great food and access to all the trails).
