Check out these that I came across on the back of my property tonight.

Had a bumper crop of huge acorns in western LP as well. I wonder if that means were going to have a good winter?

as a kid we used to make nice cigars out of those big oak leaves and white pine needles. kinda harsh and like a mule kicking you in the ribs but the price was right

We found some huge acorns today while blowing leaves. We might have squirrels as big as dogs pretty soon!

The dreaded mountain of oak leaves, now supersized. At least they are coming down before Christmas this year!

We have some huge oak trees in Lincoln Park, but I have not seen any leaves close to that size!

As I recall from my dendrology classes, abnormally large leaves are most likely to occur if the tree had been stressed the year before and the following growing season was more ideal. Also younger trees will tend to grow larger leaves.

Sure you don't have a cross-breed goin there? Sort of resembles a burr oak. Escapes me the name of the cross between burr and white oak....probably come to me when I sit on the throne! Funny how that seems to help the memory.

Wow those are big. I also came across a huge old growth white pine in White Pine of all places. It measured 18 feet 3 inches at the base. I have video of it on youtube.
