Matthew Lourey trail

East of Moose lake yesterday we hit the Matthew Lourey trail. From Hwy 48 up to Kerrick and back. Not a bad ride, but with little 2-4" base it will likely be trashed by end of Sunday. There's a rough portion around the junction to the Gandy Dancer that has active logging on it. For the nearby club trails connecting to the Lourey, most trails weren't groomed, they just drove the groomer over it without a blade down. But there's been so little traffic it was good except for some bumpy swamps. Overall I'd say get your riding in early on Saturday as it will deteriorate quickly.

We rode Moose lake airport to Duluth.Trail in the morning was awsome all morning to Duluth. We went to jaycook state park and down to Duluth than turned around and rode back to Robs tavern in Mattawa
Stopped for lunch and 41deg when we left. The trail is showing lots of wear around the road crossings. We need snow up north if we get cold weather this week and 1-2 inches of snow I would go again. Its all hi grade but the snow is really good around Carlton and north on trail. The moose lake rod and gun trails have not been groomed except the main areas. The soo line from moose lake to Wisconsin was groomed but the trail from soo line to Nickerson was groomed but really needs more good snow on top of that they just groomed the first time Thursday because of the swamps not being froze.Ill post a couple pic
