Motorcross style helmet

My son likes to use a motorcross open face style helmet when riding. He has issues with cold air leaking in. Are there specialy designed helmets and goggles to avoid this? Is the cold just an unavoidable result of "looking cool"?
I use a Modular 2 helmet and experience no cold.

Take the helmet with you when you go to get a set of goggles. They don't all fit the same. Make sure they fit tight in the helmet with no open areas. On really cold days, you can put a little duct tape over the foam on the top of the googles.

I'll also wear two balaclava's on really cold days.

Also make sure the helmet has a breath deflector that will cover his nose.

They can change the actual size of the helmet also by switching out the interior. Always make sure the helmet is snug. That can lead to air leaks also.
