The Michigan Snowmobile Association is moving to 4543 S. Division Ave. Wyoming, Michigan. They are very near moving with paint work finishing up.

What happened to their tiled restrooms and lobby floor? I think a cool MSA Tiled LOGO should be done! Jusy sayin' I may need some side work that I don't know how to do.

Not sure about MSA office floors, last one had carpet in entry. I will travel, just got back from another Chicago job.

I don't know if I'm going to renew my membership in the MSA again. Last fall at Novi I renewed and had the audasity to ask where my dues money was being spent. I was told on the ground??? when I question what the guy was telling me he called the former pres. over and we had a chat about where my money is going, I could NOT get much of an answer from these guys. I ask why they couldn't publish there budget in the magazine they put out and you would have thought I was curseing at them. I was told to attend the meetings if I wanted to know that information. I DON"T THINK I WILL RENEW THIS YEAR. Dan

Hang in there Dan, it is going into so much stuff snowmobile related. Support the Club, you probable got a volunteer member just like us, who was trying to help out at the clubs both. Remember the club is US not just Them, the working volunteers. Novi is a mad house for trying to get answers at the MSA booth. I visit the office and get tons of help and info.

I wouldn't buy from the booth asking questions. I've always been leary of the purpose of their agenda only because we don't hear about what they actually accomplish. All we really hear about is the summer camp thing and the womens ride in their magazines. The "opinion" is they do a ton for the sport. I know they are involved but,too what extent?

Anyways, call them and ask them why you should renew...

That's just my opinion.

I am a member because of what some on here have said, because of the representation they do with the government, because of the public access issues, and because I can't do a whole lot for the trail system while living in Indiana. It would probably do the MSA some good to put a post on this site explaining where the funds go and what they do with them (although that information is available if someone wants to look on their site). This site probably reaches a lot of snowmobilers who get their snow information here before they look anywhere else. The discussion boards here might be a good place for them to do some polling about issues they are considering - there are a lot of level headed riders here who would offer input.

danschevyv8, Dave B & to concerned others: Yes, very true on the volunteers helping out at the MSA booth and the many other booths at the shows mentioned.
MSA has a wonderful, very informative website. www.msa.snow
On the left side of screen, click the option "Distribution of Funds"
Also, a very good way for trail reports. On the first screen, horizonally you would click on the option of trail reports. Brings you a map. Click on the push pin for area of your interest. If push pin is green the info has been updated within 5 days. As you will see, push pins are now red because out of season for trail reports-yet, if you would click on the pursh pin for Twin Lakes/Greenland/Mass City in the UP you will find that Superior Snowmobile Club did give a last post with additional information on their trail system coverage, annual September Trail Work Session, etc.
The msa website is so informative you'll be reading for quite awhile and will probably find yourself getting interested and maybe get alittle more involved on the personal level.

Sorry for mistakes-didn't proof read. I took so long typing it that I was afraid I was going to lose it before I got it posted.

Please don't get me wrong, I have been a member for around 20 years remember going on a ride with Richard Krupp when he was president of the MSA.
I think any organization has an obligation to its members to show where the money goes. The first person I talked accually told me my dues went on the ground, I think he was trying to say the trails but it didn't sound right because I buy a trail permit for that. Then he called the president of the MSA over to talk to me. I pertty much got the same story from him come to the meetings if I want to know where my money goes. I still don't see WHY they can't publish the budget in their own magazine. dan
