She hasn't had to turn the light on as she has been full all summer! Mike just left it in the garage....

Well it's busy as ever, just last night we had 2 walk ins that took my last 2 open cabins, 1 was a group on 4-wheelers and the other on a motorcycle, both went to see the light  We also had to give directions 3 times last night to cars full of Mystery Lighters. And I think we have had over 20 reservations so far this year for people coming just to see the light too.

The LIGHT Lives ON!!

just sayin' :)

Mike, Mike, quick...GET THE LIGHT OUT OF THE GARAGE! People are here to see it! I'll stall 'em while you get the light hooked up to the ATV, and a little more action this time!!!

My sister and brother-in-law are coming to visit me in about two weeks. They're from the west coast and know nothing about the Paulding Light. I feel like bringing them out there to see it (without telling them the truth, of course)!

But, WHAT really is the truth?????

But, WHAT really is the truth?????

One of the truths, of course, is that a train conductor was hit by a train and his head got chopped off. The old train line traversed the land where the powerline is today. The Paulding Light is said to be a lantern carried by the forlorn conductor, eternally looking for his lost head!

One of the other truths is that "the "true" Paulding light was not the stationary light seen in the distance at the end of the road, but instead it would rise up and swoop over the trees, sometimes coming closer to those who watched on the road. When seen, the "true" Paulding light could not be misidentified as headlights or reflections, but considered something truly unexplainable. This description has been repeated by other such witnesses." (from wisconsinosity.com)

Yet another truth - albeit boring - is that it's just car headlights :)

I have seen the light up close and personal. the headless conductors light disappears when you walk towards him!!! scary stuff, worth the venture to Paulding.
