Am I limited to Hot dogs? I am thinking beer and Brats steaming with some onions and green peppers. I can warm the buns in my RSI underhood bag. Does everything need to be wrapped in foil?

Deb at Krupps makes a mean muff-pot sized Pasty!
Or strudels are awesome!
Or even the new scottikingwich for breakfast!

you can make a mean omelet. 3 eggs, bits of bacon and ham with cheese, onions, salt and pepper. Makes for a perfect b-fast on a morning run.

just use the good oven type bags. foil on the outside of that works too.

getting hungry just thinking about it.

Those who know me also know I can't boil water without burning it. But, I am going to try and make a pineapple upside down cake in the muff pot. (From scratch)

We've been wrapping a sandwichs like turkey and swiss or ham and chedder into a packet made from parchment paper and stuffing it into the muff pots. They are great. Even have taken venison sausage sliced them up and threw in the parchment packet and had enough to share with the whole group of 6-7 for lunch. Even had taken the Tog Mtn lodge's morning cinnamon rolls and packed them in for dessert. Just have to know your machine's heating capabilities... you run the risk of a few burnt things here and there.

If I was going to Tog. I would scam some prime rib and biskets. Wife has told me to stick to the basics, those I can wreck the best with least monitary loss. I can do chicken noodle soup from a can. Does a muff pot leak if I roll my sled out of a hole?

We have been working on recipes for a few years now and have settled on a couple favorites. First, aluminum foil is not good as it gets a black char that gets on your food and everything else. Use parchment paper. Pasty’s are great in muff pots. I buy Jean Kay’s in Iron Mountain, but pick your favorite. We also have been making homemade hot pockets using a bread crust. Bacon cheeseburger and pizza are good. We also make Calzones using a pizza dough with pepperoni or Italian sausage, red pepper, mushrooms ricotta and mozza cheese. Chimmichanga's were mighty tasty as well. Last year we even made beef wellington and pork wellington with tenderloins. Those were good but there is so much moisture that the bread crust was a little soggy. We are currently working on egg roll recipes. The key is to turn the food in the middle of the morning so that you get even cooking and don’t burn one side of the food.

Ditto! Parchment paper seems to keep things crispy too.

Wayne, I'd steer clear from really wet things like soups and overly liquid things. Unless maybe the oven bags are a seal tight option... hmmm. But the muff pot is not a tightly sealed unit.

parchment paper it is. Oven bags are pretty big at Meijer store. No wet, wet stuff. Got it.
