Last weekend killed the trails.
We were going up again this weekend and decided not to.
They need more snow and the wet sticky kind.

I guess I was hoping for a better response even though I had a feeling there wasn't enough snow.

have read lots of good reports on-line for the Grand Marais area....from different sources.
they are double grooming the trails there this weekend.
sled dog racers are running there this weekend as it is the only place with measurable, groomable snow.

I was up in that area this weekend and I say GO!!!! Yes trail 8 from Shingelton over to where 7 runs south to the buckhorn had some issues at different times throughout the weekend, but it was well worth enduring that to get to some awesome trails. The groomers were out and doing good work on keeping it the best they could. We went to Grand Marais, and that was a great ride. Thin in town, but the trails were great. Trail 8 is always rough after a long day of traffic, but I'd say it was well worth our six hour drive. A girlfriend and I were able to put on 400 miles in just a couple days, not to bad for this questionable winter. Have fun!
