Hi All,

I am taking my family to Munising for the weekend (first timer to Munising)

I am just looking for some good places to eat and and suggestions for scenery stops.

Thanks!

Miners Castle for scenery. That is one of the best looking views I've ever seen. Very easy to get to. Also, the lake near Grand Marais is a nice view.

I like the Brownstone Inn for food in AuTrain. Boot Lake is good too. Also the Whitefish Basket is killer at the Cherrywood on Friday night. Get a HopSlam with it! Also, in Grand Marais there is the Lake Superior Brewing Company that has excellent food.

Out of the places I've been to, those are what I would recommend. I'm also interested in better places as I get tto know the area. I heard Camel Riders has good food to but you need reservations.

municing area

just got back from an awesome weekend with the family. ended up putting on 200 miles over 2 and half days. the trails for the most part were excellent. went to picture rock lookout and checked out the lake for the first time. We had recommondations from John D er's which really helped. trails up in that area are much different than even northern wi. make sure you gas tanks are full. If you are staying in the Hiawatha park let me know and i have some great spots for off trail riding.

thanks again to all who helped out with idea's. this web site is great and most of the members are very helpful.

I highly recomend riding over to boot lake bar , there food is awesome!!!! Found this place by accident a few years back, and it's one of our must stops now! And you could drive into town to sydneys, and ask for dea, and tell her the flatlanders sent ya she is a hoot and very good food also!

Drop by lakenland on your way to marquette, its a neat stop. If you dont mind walking go to the eben ice caves, lots of waterfalls in the area.

Start out early and head south down trail 7. Stop and have breakfeast at Camel Riders! Great food and best biscuits and gravy around.

Continue south and head to Big Springs. You'll get a kick out of the ferry and the fish!

Traffic is usually soft as you head south too.

When I was there on Thursday we decided to continue on 7 south of CR 440. As I could hear and smell my sliders burning we turned back. The trail was fresh groomed and we were the first sleds on it. It was like ice and very thin. After the snow Thursday night through Saturday it may have got better. We left Saturday.

Places mention above are all good. Also check out miners falls near miners castle. Its little bit of a walk but well worth it. Foggys in Christmas is a good place to eat also.

I'll be up there this weekend with the family myself staying just down the street from you.
