Well my son Wyatt just turned 16 in October. He's been wanting to volunteer his time grooming since he was 10 years old, but couldn't for obvious reasons, like insurance! He's been pestering our Club President Mike Sabo for a few years now! Well, he decides to go to the Club monthly meeting this past Wednesday and much to his surprise the Club Insurance will cover a 16 yr. old for grooming! LOL!! So look out for Wyatt when he's grooming this winter. He'll be grooming Trail 13 from Greenland to Rockland! Kid loves equipment!!

That’s awesome!

He will learn a lot about maintenance too! Get him a battery powered grease gun for Christmas!

WOW! how many 16 yr old's in this sport are jealous! I would be like a kid in a candy store even at age 46 if I could operate a groomer! That's awesome!

No surprise here with me Kip!!! He'll be fine as you two have brought him up the right way, all the way around!!! Oh, and Grampa too!!! With your shop, sleds, sled sales, repair, and all the other things you deal with, plus all the snow you have, how could he be any other way??? Smart boy, he will surprise you in the next few years, and all to the GOOD!!! Your partner for sure.

wish your kid luck! I was driving a tractor pulling a 30' disc at 15 so i know its possible. But having a 17yr old, i know the worries of having then do so, especially with the worries of 5000 sleds coming 75mph to and from them on a narrow path in the middle of the night.

That is great Kip! Good to see at such a young age. This sport needs that! I'm having our groomer meeting tomorrow morning and our average age is probably 66! LOL
