need a road report

ridin up to the u.p. and staying at the running bear.any suggestions? my question would be lac labelle/gay rd, is that paved and mandan rd from copper harbor around to 41, is that paved. or should we forget the kewenaw and ride a different direction as we have been there a couple years ago.big bikes so very little gravel.

the gay/lac labelle rd is paved. Mandan rd is not. I was up last week and tons of big bikes this time of year a lot go up the gay side come down the eagle river side rather than just riding up the middle. I like lake linden to gay, gay to lac labelle, to copper harbor over Brockway mt drive to rt26 to 5 mile rd, or if you have never been on cliff drive it a good ride looking at the cliffs. another side ride take bootjack road down to white city beach. you can't do any better the a ride in the Keweenaw. have a safe ride

Depending how much time you have, get over to Marensco and take Presque Isle rd (519) to South Boundry road up to Lake of the Clouds. They charge admission but the lady that collects must be a snowmobiler. We said we always came up in the winter but wanted a peek in the summer and she waved us through.
Then over to Otonagon and up into the Keweenaw. The ride up the middle is great too. The tree canopy is outstanding.

So much slower driving to top of Brockway or LOC. Sled at 70+ & car at 25mph totally different.lol You do notice the time difference.

thanks all. on motorcycle, cliff dr and brockway mountain dr are pretty rough. I wouldn't take my bike on those again.the rest of the roads i was on were great. Mosquito, i will be back up there for a fall colors run and will stop in there then. it was too early in the morning on the way up and was trying to outrun darkness on the way back but next time I will have the jeep so i can explore all around runningbear lodge.
