need advice and recommendations

Looking to do a cross-country trip from mercer to Copper
Harbor then back down. Looking for some good routes and any must see trails or towns. I don't know much about the UP, so any advice or recommendations for a trip like this would be appreciated. A total trip of four days is what i'm considering. Thanks for any help

It all depends what you plan to do. Do you want to stay at a different place each night? Mercer to Copper Harbor is an easy day trip. Are you planning on riding back that night because that will be a long one.

I was looking to do a four day trip. about 175 a day or more. I'm will to go anywhere in the UP. I just want to be directed to the right places. For an example, on the way back, maybe I would stay in Watersmeet to see the casino. Maybe some seanic routes

Since you want to make it a 4 day trip, I would spend the first night in Silver City and be sure to go up to Lake of the Clouds and ride the South Boundary Road trail, #11 I think. Take trail 102 up from Lake Gogebic to trail 11 up to Lake of the Clouds.

The next day head up to Copper Harbor and stay at the Mariner North. On the way up be sure to take trail #13 loop from Greenland to Twin Lakes, awesome ride. Also be sure to take the Brockway Mountain trail in to Copper Harbor.

The next day head to Big Bay and stay at the old hotel there that a famous old movie was shot at.

For the 4th night, head down to Watersmeet as you suggest, stay at the Casino and head home the next day. In the Watersmeet area, be sure to take trail 107 from Kenton down to trail 3 near Watersmeet.

This would be sweet 4 day ride. Be sure to have trail maps with you for each of the areas and you should have no problems. Let me know if I can help any further.

Good advice here. Mspease has laid out a pretty doable scenario and it will leave you with enough time to explore. We often do that whole trip in a day but it leaves little time to hang out and explore.

Consider Running Bear Resort in Paulding don't have to worry about someone messing with your sleds at Casino. If you trailer sleds @ Casino then Ok...........nice hotel.
