Folks, I need to secure lodging and rentals for a group from Feb 7-10. Problem is, the winter festival is that weekend and the Ramada is already booked. I have a group of 12, and half of the group will need sled rentals. Any thoughts for places that will be available in the western U.P., stretching from Wakefield to Houghton/Hancock? Thanks!

Did you try the Running Bear in Paulding & you can rent sleds out of Lando & Eagle River? Trackside has huge rental fleet as well as Lando Rec. You will have more trouble finding 12 sled rentals than the rooms. Also could split rooms Running Bear & Casino so doable. Ramada also will have cancelations but probably will not list you just take it on the come.

Go to the Ramada's website and try booking online.I have called b4 and said book then went to website and got rooms.Try the Franklin Square Inn

Try calling Dans in Atlantic Mine (great place)$ 90 day for RMK like $120 IQ
Try calling up in copper harbor you might get lucky !!!!! Some people don't mind the 60 min ride
South on trail 3 to get back to Houghton
PS We give 1 year deposit to the place we stay at just because we know how it get up in Houghton that time of year

We just had a cancellation come in for the #6 cabin here at the Wildlife Refuge Cabins, we are on the Bill Nicholl's trail and Copper Counrty Rentals delivers to your front door free of charge. Other wise Dan's is 1 1/2 miles away or Houghton Power Sports is 3 miles or M & M is 5 miles away. This unit is 2 bedroom 2 baths , but it won't be available long as our cancellation list waiters have been called and it is a 1st. come 1st served policy.
