One reason to not ride alone! Body of 87-year-old Wash snowmobiler found
Kittitas County sheriff's deputies say the body of a missing 87-year-old snowmobiler has been found by a relative.

The Associated Press

ELLENSBURG, Wash. —
Kittitas County sheriff's deputies say the body of a missing 87-year-old snowmobiler has been found by a relative.

Sheriff's Commander Robert Gubser says Dale Sasseen, of Cashmere, was found dead Saturday about 2.4 miles from where he was last seen. He was found by a relative, Matt Coe, about noon.

Gubser says in a news release that it appears Sasseen's snowmobile became stuck on Wednesday in the Cooke Canyon area about 10 miles northeast of Ellensburg. He says Sasseen was unable to free it, then tried unsuccessfully to build a fire before dying of exposure. Dozens of people took part in a search, but it was hampered by poor weather

Riding alone off trail taking a chance for sure. Riding alone on trails no big deal & do it all the time for maybe 20,000 + miles maybe more. 99% in daylight & would not ride alone at night if I can avoid it. Take care of my sled & it takes care of me & most important I cut down on stupid when alone. I admire this guy he died doing what he liked & 87 not a bad number. I'm into quality not quanity & 87 good years is Aok with me.

God Bless !! Wow! I got a little more spring in my step this morning and hope I can get 24 more good years of sledding in! The log to let people know where you are going is a real good deal if you ride solo and would make recovery a lot quicker! The wifey poo would know all your secret hangouts then! When riding offtrail and lakes its hard to plan a exact course ,best to ride with someone and carry cell phone and some type of emergency gear!
