Just picked up a new Samgung 60 , 3D, Full HD, Smart hub, ect... Smart TV. We watched " Tron " last night in 3D and I was impressed. Anyone else up on the latest tech ? I might need some help getting the computer to interface with the TV.

Looking for any input.

3d only good for 3d DVDS & 3d games no broadcast of 3d signal in near future. Samsung 60 inch 3d must have been pricey!

Well not cheap, but was impressive for the 1st time using it. I only bought it due to the old 55 Sony geting hit buy lightening. I did pick up on ESPN starting to broadcast in 3D. Not sure how much that will cost , but subscribing to Direct TV ..... I would assume it will cost something. I also bought a polk Surround bar the 6000 and a Monster HDP 1800 power center so I can protect my " tech " and check/monitor incoming voltage, good 21G HDMI cables . Not getting burned again. They thru some bundles in ( 3D -Blue Ray DVD player) with the mega price-tag.

I guess the lightening storms are good for something besides knocking the power out and having to switch to back up generator power. ( lost 3 TV's- well pump - laptop that was plugged in ect....)

Hope you have good surge protectors on the cable phone and electric to it,
enjoy.
Wish I could watch one but a bad eye won't let me see 3d.

My dad bought a Samsung 60" 3D TV and I don't like it personally. Everything that is displayed whether a movie or broadcast TV looks like a Mexican soap opera.

There are some hot chicks on those soap operas! As for the tv, I think pic quality is awesome. The 3D is not a huge selling point for me, just an added feature.

Personally I'm gonna stay away from 3D tv's, 3D movies just really don't appeal to me since most are shot in 2D and converted which I hear in movie theaters are not worth the extra money, plus the prices of them are outrageous. Think I'll wait for the next greatest thing to come out in 10 years.

If you have Directv, you should have 3 or 4 3D channels already. Look between Channels 101 and 105.

It wasn't a selling point for me, but pretty much every new TV is going to include 3d and the set I liked has it anyway.

I have had a Sony 3D tv for 6 months or so, tried to watch 3D and it started to hurt my eyes after 10 minutes. It was neat to watch 3D at home, but It isn't worth hurting my eyes to watch it. The TV can convert any programming to 3D by pushing a button, just not as good as something made into 3D from the manufacturer.

I thought it was pretty awesome. The 2 limitations are (1)the quantity of 3D movies available. (2) Limited web browser " Smart Hub " abilities. I did pick up some IMAX 3D Deep Sea & Hubble discs and to me other than action / adventure those are right up my alley of things to watch. Buyer be ware... unless you buy a Sony Viera and get the bundle with AVATAR in it you will have to bid on 1 on " fleabay". I just acquired one for $84 ??? Seems the big corps ( Baolgny & Sucksung ) and battleing it out over 3D tv and each has special movies that can't be had easily ??? Avatar won't be available seperately in 3D / Blue ray until end of 2012 ( right about when the world is to end ) LOL.....

As far as the " Smart hub -web browser " feature it worked great watching 60" You Tube vids, but when I pulled up the NOAA entire US radar loop it struggled. Things are still in their infancy. TV's & Computers every 6 months.... they grow by leap & bounds. In a 1.5 yr time frame your tech is old hat. It has been that way for 20 years. I'm 48 and even grumpier..... I still like the TV , hard to beat watching jetski backflip vids on 60" & having tunes pumped thru surround with 2 subs !

Each manu has their own bundles & own glasses so Samsung glasses won't work on Sony & vice versa.
