New Furnace in the house

I have a Goodman GMP 100-3 furnace in my house right now. Its roughly 18 years old and still seems to run good. I've been in the house roughly a year so only one winter so far. The heating input is 80,000 and the output capacity is 64,000. I had a heating and cooling guy come out last year and he said I would save a lot of money by getting a newer energy efficient one. Any idea how much it would cost to replace a furnace this size and if its something I should look into? Or just run the one I have until it dies haha. Thanks!

Wait till it craps out, it'll probably be 20 below then.
Mine is 24 years old and I hold my breath each time it clicks on.

It looks like you have 80% furnace now. If it is heating your home well then you could go to a 75,000 btu furnace that is 90% or more and increase your btu output with a smaller furnace. You would for sure save money and you may get a tax credit also.

X2 wait until it is done but do homework now. Higher quailty furnace will run about $3500 installed depending on metal work necessary to fit existing metal work. Could go another 5 -7 years if you get lucky. Newer models loaded with electronics so you know how that goes. Older furnaces run like hoses & liked them better.

I love Goodman equipment. My buddy replaced my furnace after 15 years because the plenum cracked and fan was going. He put the same efficiency in because in my finished basement I could not vent the higher rated units. He installed the furnace, Honeywell blacklights and Trane air cleaner at the same time. Last summer he replaced my Goodman a/c with another Goodman unit. The first Goodman a/c lasted 17 years without a service call ever!! Goodman are great products!!

I would wait till it craps out! I paid $3,000 to have my neighbor, who does commercial heating and cooling, plus I had to help, replace my furnace and air. It's expensive. Look at the cost recapture for the project and go from there. Get a couple of bids for chitz and grins.

Good luck Bro and hope to see ya soon!
