new sled

Going to treat myself to a new sled. Considering GSX or Renegade with 1.25 track as most riding is on trail. I want maximum comfort so I like the idea of bridging the bumps with the longer track. I dont care about heated seat etc. but still need best performance reguarding speed. Any opinions on comparing these two ?

cc,
I can only give you 1/2 an answer as I have the shorty TNT package. I can tell you this that the 1" track can get a little loose until you get accustomed to it. The engine just has some incredible torque and I'm not sure what would nail it down completely (lugs, picks, etc.) The aftermarket Add-ons are limitless. You might want to try it stock and go from there.

I'm coming up on 1,000 miles for my first year on the 1200. I''m comfortable with the 1" track now and will likely keep it as is. I can promise you're going to like your new ride regardless of the track you choose!

I was more trying to compare GSX vs Renegade. GSX is always supposed to be most comfy, but people say the renegade bridges the bumps and provides a great ride. Now the new suspetion is out so will I have to chose a model with that ?

I don't know how valid the comparison is but I've had many friends ride my stone-stock 06 Renegade and and another friend's 08 GSX and without exception, they have preferred the Renegade. I found this surprising, since the GSX is considered a "touring" sled but the usual comment is that they like the feel of the Renegade suspension better.

If you can catch a spring tour somewhere, by all means go. Jump on em' sit on em'. and see which one just feels better.
