New Year's Eve

My wife and I plan on hauling the kids up to Houghton for New Years. Our main focus will be playing in the snow, eating good food, and not working. However, we figured that we would check and see what, if anything is going on for New Year's Eve. No biggie either way. We'd be happy just hanging at a local restaurant for a bit and heading back to the room. We just wondered if there was something for us, and an 18 and 12 year old. Thanks in advance for any tips!

I think its only about a half hour drive (weather dependent of course) But Copper Harbor has some lights in the park event as well as fireworks at Midnight I believe. Might be worth checking into.

Sounds pretty cool. Literally! We'love have to look into that. We did something similar a couple years ago down in a Grand Isle Louisiana. It's just a little island off the coast, but they went bananas with fireworks for New Years. We just rented a little house at off-season prices, built a fire on the beach, enjoyed the show, then strolled back to the place.
