MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Michigan — Churchgoers at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church received quite a surprise when a naked man, handcuffed and fleeing police, ran through the church during a service on Monday night, police said.
Mt. Morris Township Police said the man, in his late 20s, was pulled over by an officer for loud music around 7:30 p.m. near Saginaw Street and Humphrey. The officer requested the man, who was fully clothed at this point, out of the vehicle and found drugs during a pat down.
The man was handcuffed, but then took off running, according to police. Police said the man climbed a barbed wire fence and lost his shoes, pants and underwear.
The man continued to run and climbed another fence where he lost his shirt, according to police.
The man then entered the church, located on Saginaw Street, south of Coldwater Road, where the service was going on, according to police. Police found the man hiding inside the church and he was apprehended.
A further search of the vehicle found more drugs, police said.
He was lodged in the Genesee County Jail.
