Anyone happen to see this in person yet? 5 second 1/8 mile??? CRAZY! dabbled in asphalt in its infancy...in its very early infancy. Would be cool to see IMO! and you have to wonder if it will take off as a NHRA sanctioned sport?

Lots of great racing in lower Michigan but hasnt taken off in NHRA...they only race at Brainerd and the fans love it but they have to beg to get into the NHRA show.

One of the first big asphalt sled races was in 1996 @ Great Lakes dragstrip in Union Grove, Wi...Back then they were using Prostock 800 sleds and ISR rules running the full 1320' with Olaf doing the tech...I believe their were 12 racers that day...We finished in 2nd place behind Dave Trygstad...

we used to race there, think was before 1996, had a TX chassis with an 880 Decker triple, got to run at the labor day spectacular once too.
