"No posts with Religious or Political viewpoints. I am religious and political too, but these are two topics almost certain to offend, so it's just best to avoid them in this forum."

The next time I see the word "prayer" or "God" I expect it to be deleted...afterall we wouldn't want to actually discuss anything that might offend on here such as politics, religion or for that matter "gas"...

Since you seem to the the smart one in the group, explain to me how freedom of speech allows someone to come to a privately owned website and do anything they want. Seems to me that would be like me coming into your house and doing anything I want.

I guess I had it all wrong. Freedom of speech does not protect private property, it lets anyone say or do anything they want, when ever they want.

Thanks for the apology and all is forgiven.

I guess that is just a sore subject with me. I provide this board and site free of charge to all and then someone breaks the rules and had their post removed and then starts crying about it and how unfair it is.

Seems like there are those that view it their right to be able to come to this site and board and post and not a privilege.

John, I am now confused???? I thought that we could not make a Religious or Political stand. But now we can not use certain words?? Isn't being politically correct also political? I did not see the post; if that helps with an answer. I have used the word God in here before, is that a rule breaker to say God Bless you! or "please say a prayer" for a fellow JDeer who has a deadly illness, etc. Not trying to be smart, just want to know the fine line. Please answer, then delete if you must. Wayne

Hmmm, I’m not even sure what caused the “gas” thread to be pulled… sorry about my reaction, I just had something really good to say and when I went to post it was gone.

Definatly my bad as far as starting this new thread… you are more than right, best not to get into politics or religion for that matter…sorry for being such a smart ***.

p.s. for those I offend with the "religion" comment, I was just trying to make a "bad" point, its that German temper that can sometimes lead me into troubled waters...

You can still use political and religious words, even say god-bless to someone if you want. The rules are still the same, no discussions with a political or religious stand to them.

I did not see the post that was about religion or politics though. Must have been yanked by another mod.

I yanked the gas price poll. Sorry. I sat down this morning at 4:15 and started reading through the threads and came across that one. There was a post in it that needed obvious pulling (reference to shooting a politician), so I went in to yank that post. Then saw more problem posts and started cleaning them up. After about 5 minutes, decided there was just too much intermingling of political in the entire thread, even by folks that were just replying without breaking the rules (quoting the rule breaking posts in their post). So I just deleted the whole thread.

I try very hard to not toss the baby out with the bath water, but sometimes a thread just has too many posts that break the rules or too much cross referencing that it is impossible to clean it up and still have it make any sense.

i think the expansion of everyday ppl expressing there opinions concernin P and R has helped society in general,....more ppl are now becoming connected with what there elected officials are doing to them instead of for them and are reacting to stop the crazyness.

LET IT SNOW, John,...and we will be talking snowmobiling!!!!we lost all our slide lube down here!!!!!


Just one more quick point at the risk of getting deleted , but our very sport of snowmobiling and the success of this great wbsite hangs in the balance if we choose to ignore and not discuss the very political forces whos end game it is to stop our fuel consuming foolishness.
