in my divorce we agreed to claim our daughter everyother year. i get even years and she gets odd years, it is in our divorce papers and sure enough evry other year i have to prove to them as so does she and these illegals can get away with this? just sickening. i am without words. politicians are like diapers. they need to be changed often and for the same reason.

I get my son every year as a dependant deduction and the last 4 years my taxes have been denied with his social security number. Every year ive had to submitt my divorce decree to get my taxes filed. Same denial with my daughters number every other year. There response every year is you have to prove to us that by court order you get the deduction.
My question is if there claiming a dependant dont the dependant have to have a Social security number in the U.S?? Or at least the ITIN number?
I also didnt know you could claim nieces and nephews as dependants. Sounds like a whole lot of tax fraud to me..
