NOAA Weather Radio

A quick question if anybody would have any info for me! I have the 100 model and it says to "check reception". So I went back to the manual and it says put it closer to the winder or check to see if there are metal things close to it and move them. I did that and have tried a few places in the house and it's not working. It still says check reception! The radio was purchased about 3 months ago and worked good for 2 months or so.

Any ideas for me?? Anyone else have one in the Keweenaw? And is there still a broadcast? I'm asssuming it's just my radio but doesn't hurt to check.

Are you running it on AC or DC power? If DC, Possible your batteries are weak. You should also check the county codes programmed & make sure you have the right one for each.-Mezz

I have it plugged into the wall and have installed 3 new batteries as well. I have verified the station used too. The think I've noticed is that the lights on the unit aren't working. the lights are for warning, watch, and advisory. I have changed the alert type to voice from message and it doesn't catch the warning. When you listen to the weather, it picks up the LES warning. But doesn't "flag" it.

wierd.

They (NOAA) only post the Watch or Warning on the unit for a short period of time. It appears as such when NOAA initially issues it or changes it from a Watch to a Warning. It doesn't sound like a problem, go through the set-up menu and re-check your settings again to be sure. Another thing to keep in mind is that every county has a specific code, so, if you only have Houghton County in the County Code, thats all you will get, I have mine set up for the surrounding 5 counties.-Mezz

I have a Radio Shack model 12-250 NOAA weather radio. For some reason, it's stopped receiving any alerts. Our local area SAME code is 055005, and I've reset and reprogrammed everything multiple times without success.

An ideas out there?
