Non rebuildable shocks

How long do non rebuildable shocks last? I have an 02 ski-doo and was wondering if there is a way to tell if a shock is working properly. I have it out and it pushes in and comes out slow and smooth, but don't know how hard it pushes when new. Any info is appreciated! It does have approx. 8000 or so miles on it.

IMO if they are working smooth as you say they are, and are not leaking fluid out the top seal, I would put them back on and keep riding your sled.

I have an 06 MXZ Adrenaline with 4,100 miles and had to replace the center and rear shocks this year. When I pushed the rear of the sled down it was very soft and slowly came up only half way, therefore, I new mine were shot. I would recommend replacing them since it most likely is effecting how your sled rides.
