Deep snow riding on some forest roads

Looking down the MooseWalk trail on Sunday, First tracks in 14" of snow

My son found a deep spot in this shot

Another of my son stuck

And my wife even got in on the fun of being stuck.
I dug out a lot of sleds on Sunday including myself a couple times. Conditions were awesome. Trails were tough on Sunday just due to the fresh snow but once they groom them up they'll be great and the off trail was fantastic.

Love these shots Troy! Can't get enough of photos of the sleds in the North Shore deep stuff. I do miss the North Shore - still not sure why I can't manage my sledding priorities better.

As bearrassler said, we're having a stellar year just northwest of you up here in Lake of the Woods County. Best snow we've had in years and a possibility of more on the way next week. Going out tomorrow to hopefully create some trenches.

Took a ride on Lake of the Woods today and came across this ice structure formed by the high winds during freeze-up last December. Pretty cool (hope you don't mind me posting a pic).

Great picture Kelly. Glad to hear you're having a good year and have the time to get out and enjoy it. While I didn't post any pictures of it I did have to dig that 500 out plenty of times on Sunday. My daughter was struggling on the trails when all that was in front of her were two tracks from my son and I weaving back and forth like idiots. She has learned to keep it pinned though!

We rode to Lake of the Woods from Virginia on Friday - you guys didn't get as much on Thursday, but still lots of good snow and riding to be done up there, that's for sure!

If your daughter was following you "idiots" on that shorty, she has my respect! Time to get her some lugs.

With the temps we've had this winter it has seemed like the Arctic a good share of Jan. and Feb.

XCR440 - Impressive run! Hopefully you had good trails most of the way. Did you stay over somewhere or do it all in one marathon ride?

Came up the Northwest Connection and stayed at Cyrus, they had some fisherman cancel earlier in the week and we were the first to call. The first dozen or so places laughed at us on the phone when we asked if they had an opening.

The Igloo off Zippel Bay was our goal for Friday. Rode back on Saturday through Waskish. I can't remember if we hit a bump or not, well, maybe there were a few through the power line construction......:cool3:

I keep thinking that I need to get a taller track on that thing but this is actually the first ride she's gone on all yr and it doesn't look like she'll make another. With her work, climbing competitions, school commitments, and just being a 17 yr girl there's not a lot of time left to go snowmobiling. And next yr is the last yr we'll have her at home so it's probably not worth the time and expense to upgrade the track, unless one just falls in my lap. While its kind of sad that she isn't able to come with much anymore I do have great memories of her starting at 3 in a snow coach and going everywhere with us. So between that sled putting on 30 miles this yr and my wifes' 14 RMK putting on 60 miles I saved a lot on gas!
