Got up to the cabin for another weekend of riding. My dad came up for the weekend so that was fun. 72 and still snowmobiling. We only rode on Saturday and headed up the Moosewalk trail to start and it was in very good shape. Snow was very soft but gotta expect that when it's mid 40's. Rode a bunch of forest roads off the Moosewalk and then went north of Finland and ran some forest roads til we hooked up with the NSST and ran that to the Trestle inn for lunch. There were some bare spots on the NSST and I think today also took it's toll on it. 99% of it was very good but there are some dirt spots showing through and they are just going to get worse. Forest roads and local trails were very good and I'd like to think the forest roads have 2-3 more weeks of riding on them if you can get to them.
On the way back from the Trestle we stopped on a lake and let the kids ride around by themselves. After telling them to go slow we watch them ride around for awhile and pretty soon they line them up and I hear my son ask my daughter if she was ready, and then they both can it and take off in a drag race. The two goofs! Alls well that ends well!

Justin,
You should be OK. The NSST had some bad spots, 60-70' of no snow but overall, maybe 300' of 30 miles from the trestle back to Finland was bad. So no complaints. Access was getting poor, getting to gas in Finland was bare and road crossings are mud. And if you have to follow any roads to get to trails, that's not good! We're coming up Friday evening again and plan to go to the parade in Finland Saturday. Don't even know if we are going to ride at all or just pick the sleds up and bring them home.

Tomk, we didn't get out to the Trestle until almost 3:00 and we passed a ton of sleds on our way up to it. Most sleds I've seen all season, granted we don't ride the trails that much but I have never seen that many sleds on the trails. And lot's of families out there, never seen that many kids on the trails. Usually it's just ours. We saw some tracks on the river down below that overlook, was that you guys? We did stop in and say Hi to Leroy about mid day Saturday. Then took the boonies route from there up to the Trestle.

some of them were our tracks, there was a couple that we followed in. we turned around where the other tracks turned around, northing really in there that we could find.

hopefully they dont get the rain up there like we are supposed to get in central mn. pray for snow! we were probably at the trestle at the same time and didnt even realize it. I think we got there about 330. it was awesome weather to ride, especially with the fam., didnt have to worry about cold hands!
