Hey i live in Alpena,MI which is in northeastern lower michigan.I have been watching the incoming storm like a hawk, prolly like most of us.lol Anyways i noticed that winds are suppose to be east to northeast for a prolonged period of time.im wondering if this will increase the snowfall in my area or possibily hurt the total.Anyone have any input on this? i absolutley can not wait to see what pans out! Sounds like i will get my first ride in Friday!!!

Pretty rare for Alpena and areas south along Lk Huron to get LES. East winds just dont bring the artic cold air needed across the lake is the main reason why. Our friends in Canada along Lk Huron can get hammered at times with a N or NW wind and a longer fetch to create better conditions. This last LES event - last week? they had predicted 10" to 16" along that shore around Goderich.
