Northern Wisc this weekend

Any one interested in riding next weekend in Northern Wisc? Thinking Forest County area... that is not set in stone. I do have an open spot on trailer (leaving from Milwaukee) ... buddy has a sick little one so he can't go. plan on riding saturday- staying saturday night - riding sunday and then heading back south.

Let me know know if you have interest.

my buddies have said its good in Forest. Basically I will drive as far as I have to for good riding....

There was enough snow in Northern Marinette County (north of Cty C) last Saturday to make for good conditions, then got 2 more inches Saturday night and whatever they get today. Would assume Forest County is the same if not a bit more snow.

Extreme NW Forest is very good but still catching up on grooming so plenty of snow but grooming is another story due to the wet.

Brule / Iron River has snow, if you truly need to ride (same thing as in southern part of the U.P.. If it were me, I would head over to Hurley area as they have more snow.

Or just gotta know where to go. Rode 144 miles last Saturday, saw less than 10 sleds before stopping for lunch at 45 miles, and about 12 during the last 35 miles on the ride back to the truck in the late afternoon (on still good trails that didn't show any wear compared to what they were in the morning).

I hear ya lots of twisty low traffic trails if you know where to ride in Forest weekends or weekday surprising sometimes when other near by areas are jammed pack but I won't object let them ride where ever they want. NW Forest the undiscovered jewel of the north & has not changed in my 10 years up here.:)

Exactly Pete - in Northern Forest, Florence, and Northern Marinette Counties pit stops are few and far between, are thus few people ride these areas. Even on the first Saturday of January. Even when people like you and I don't mind bragging them up.

BTW Pete, where you by chance riding Trail 111 north of Amasa yesterday around noon? I was driving through and saw a single rider out on a black Yamaha and thought who would be crazy enough to be out riding in this, and instantly thought of you :D

If yesterday was Wednesday we were in Amasa ...had a burger at the Horseshoe filled up at Tall Pines .....venturenorth was with me probably behind me I lead in that area & we do not stay on each others butt just check in at check points. 111 was great so was 15n and south to 111 junction.... south of IR Brule River & Phelps trails not so good need grooming attention....just what you need after 200 mile day slam the bod around a bit.lol All in all a great day on trails it was cold subzero but we where toasty! :)

Yep ......If you were driving not sure of the HYW number but the one by Tall Pines I was hauling balls thru there really fast after lunch snow blowing all over the place -5 to -10 below felt like a missile shooting thru the white clouds ....it was a blast!! :D venturenorth knows to let me air out but he was there somewhere too & time is about right lunch time.
