Not fishing in Michigan

We are heading up to our place on LG in a couple weeks to go fishing. One of the guys going with us does not want to fish, just wants to drink beer while we fish. I assume he does not need a license so long as he does not touch a pole while it is in the water... Am I right?

I he's not fishing, he doesn't need a license. Just make sure that you don't exceed the daily limit of fish for each person that DOES have one.

Oh, and make sure he isn't driving either.

Dave is correct - just be SURE he doesn't touch a pole, tackle, net, etc. - as in "hold this for a second."

Legalities aside, if it was my boat I would make him buy a license just to be safe.
