When you're bored one day, take out your sawzall or large tubing cutter and open up an oil filter.
I did this years ago with a few car oil filters and was somewhat surprised what I found
The known and trusted "FRAM" was a simple paper element filter with a piece of "kite string" wound around the middle section (seriously)
Not saying the factory POLARIS one is good or bad, but just can't judge quality by price or packaging, that's all.
Regarding "WIX" My I personally know of (2) excavators that run those in his Bobcats and Backhoe's for years with no engine problems
