Oil Drain line for 8HP Briggs engine

I am makeing up drain line extentions for some large blowers I have that have 8HP briggs engines. The oil drains are just not in a good spot and it makes a mess when I drain them. So I have put together some brass fittings and a 4" piece of fuel line and a fitting with a cap.

Do you think the fuel line will be ok with the oil being so hot? or do I need to go to a maybe a power steering line what may take more temps

I would put a valve as close to the engine as possible, then you don't have to worry about hot oil in the hose.

Does it have to be a soft line to get around obstacles? I have used short pieces of steel pipe with a cap to get oil past mounting plates to drain them and never had a problem. Just have to make sure its not too long and you don't hit them and break them off.

It needs to be a flexable able line so I ended up using tranmission cooler lines which should handle the temps if not hopfully it starts off as a drip and doesn't just pour out

My 350 Black Scorpian motor in my Ski boat has about a 5' hose extention (factory installed). You drain the oil outside of the boat- feeding the hose thru the drain (plug)-no mess. The oil in the hose really does not get hot, UNTIL you drain the oil out of the hot engine. I would make sure the hose is oil rated and can handle 200 degrees.
Just realized I forgot my Kohler in my zero turn has a rubber drain hose about 16" long.
