Oil Leak

Another question. On this 98' skidoo 583, I've had a little oil leak underneath that drains out the bottom for about 3 or 4 years and took it in last year and they said they couldn't find anything and that it may be leaking out from some return/overflow under the engine and that they would have to pull it to find out for sure. They said it wouldn't hurt anything, but it will just leak. It's not a big leak, but enough where I have to put a pan underneath to not make a mess on the floor. Leaks less when it's cold. Is there soome easier way to find thisleak than pay them to pull my motor?

I have seen the grommet on the bottom of the oil tank weep and the oil run down the hose and drip off at the bottom. and the return overflow tube can weep oil. Get a piece of "pig mat" or oil absorbent matting, throw a chunk under the motor and let it do its job. The stuff will soak up amazing amounts of oil, and no more drips on the floor. If it gets saturated, put in a new piece. I think you can get it at NAPA and auto supply stores. I use them on the work bench when I rebuild motorcycle engines, always lots of oil left in the little nooks and crannies that pours out all over the bench. Works like a charm.
