Looking for some help.
My son and I are "reclaiming" an old 1990 polaris indy 500. We are in the process of rebuilding the primary clutch and did some reading and found many people liked to use the "Gold" spring instead of the stock "silver spring. I ordered gold spring from Denniskirk said it was good for the polaris p85-p90 clutches, however when i got it, it is about an inch taller than the stock silver.
Did i buy the wrong spring? Is that normal? Seems to me that would be way to much pressure for the clutch to work properly. As I look more it seems to have an extra coil in it.
Could the silver spring be that worn out?
any help would be great, thanks in advance!
