One year ago today...

Its hard to believe the difference in my backyard from one year ago today. I guess the lack of snow this year is closer to average, anyway, I thought some mind find this mildly interesting.
I actually had the forethought to save a few webcam images from last year before, during and after the 18" snowstorm last March 31/April 1. Even though I experienced it, without having pictures to look back at, it would still be hard to believe how much snow I had on the ground April 1 2014.

It is an amazing difference.

Was up on L.O.W. north of Morson, ON this weekend and I'm sure there was more snow up there in May of last year than there is now. Even so, the lake was perfect for lake running on Friday - about a foot of snow and pool table smooth. After the warm temps on Saturday and rain Saturday night it was a different story. Nothing but water on top of the ice on Sunday.

Here in Duluth we got 45" of snow this year. Last year we had 140". What a difference.

Hey Troy, maybe we can get that 3' in April like 2 years ago!

Yup, I'm sayin', there's a chance!

I remember it well Crossfire, we got about a foot of snow out of that storm. Today it is 61 degrees, sunny, and we have no wind which is unusual for our area.

No wind is unusual for you. My dad grew up near Hallock so I've been to the valley many times visiting relatives. That wind can be a beast there. I think you can see the curvature of the earth there in a few places.
