The warm weather, and rain this past week did cause some damage to the trails...as I posted Lincoln County (just to our south)..closed all but Zone One..and our club and a Hodag trails had suspended grooming TFN...it's soft and wet out there...and frankly too warm to groom effectively...we did ask people not to ride when it was raining to try and preserve our base (and people still rode anyway..smh), for the most part the base has held up well...the lakes are another story...we have plenty of ice (a foot plus on Lake Nokomis)..but it's slushy and wet everywhere...we did receive some snow this week...about 2 inches (not the 3 to 5 predicted for Thursday)...and only a 1/2 inch this morning (not the 1 to 3)....every little bit helps..but we need more, and colder weather to get the trails back into shape again...looks like we have to get through a couple of warm days Monday and Tuesday, with a rain snow mix Tuesday before colder air arrives mid week, and maybe some light snow. Are the trails rideable here? Absolutely..Just don't expect pristine conditions...you'll find the trails are in fair condition with some good areas..high traffic areas, and road crossings are a bit rough, and thin..but again..very rideable...btw there are a couple weather forecasters on Facebook that I know many of you follow (especially on snowmobile pages)...they (and they shall remain name less) have been extremely in accurate..I really wish people (especially snowmobile clubs)..would stop reposting these forecasts...it gets people excited for nothing, and makes them angry when they are wrong...don't believe the bs on facebook.

Update...i just went on a 40 mile spin north and west of nokomis...the trails are far better than I expected...im going to say they are Good..with a few snirty spots (especially in the pine forested areas), and some ice in the corners...considering that they haven't been groomed all week...im shocked...with a little grooming (hopefully tonight)..they will be really nice...that being said..the railroad grade, road crossings and heavy traffic areas are thin and snirty..stick to the wooded trails away from town...and you will be surprised at how good it is.

Went out again this morning..trails are flat smooth and fast...although a bit icy in the corners, and road crossings...still a few things spots..but honestly not bad...we have a very hard ice base with some snow for lube...just need some fresh stuff to work in...trails took a beating this weekend, but held up well..the clubs did go out and groom last night...again I have to say the trails are surprisingly good with a few fair spots...definitely worth riding here this week
