Happy New Years..trails are beautiful...the main traveled trails like the hiawatha, have a few snirty spots, due to heavy traffic..the wooded trails are good to excellent...but the clubs are still working to remove trees and brush from some heavily wooded areas..there's lots of over hanging brush and limbs...so be careful, and use caution...the scenery is absolutely beautiful...be careful on the lakes, lots of frozen slush, very rough on the marked trail..deep snow with slush under neath if you get off trail (nokomis and lake Alice are marked, mohawksin is not)....we did receive 3 inches of fresh snow this week (after the big storm), and it's currently snowing...we are also expecting 1 to 3 inches tomorrow night into monday...these trails are as good as they've been in 3 years...no reason to go to Michigan, unless you want to. So great to see all these sleds back in the area.

Ride down there yesterday. Feel bad for the clubs there is a lot of work that needs to be done. I saw they are looking for help for today and tomorrow for brushing. I see it may warm up a little next week, that may be a good thing get the snow off of the trees and thaw them out so they may pop back up. I was trying to shake the snow off of them to see if they would pop back up. Cleaned up a lot of fallen branches.
